What's life without adventure? To me, it doesn't exist.
As the sun sets and the clear blue water turns to golden grey, light fades in the endless African sky.
Mountain peaks in the distance bow their tops in silence as day falls into night.
In the peak of dusk, magnificence overpowers the darkening day. Who would have ever imagined that such beauty could come from a single drop of water? Yet, here before me, Victoria Falls shines in all its elegance.
The flow of the Zambezi River provides a haven away from the sweltering African heat. Elephants bathe, for it’s all they care to do.
I’d always dreamt of this place as a child.
I’d admired the lush grasses and marvelled at the strange, but powerful, animals.
I imagined a world like no other and knew one day I would see it all for myself. I made that dream a reality, further broadening my horizons to include other parts of the world in my travels. So many places I never imagined I would go, but if I was to leave my home Australia behind, I was going to make the most of it.
And so began my round-the-world journey. The planning… the saving desperately for money… the goodbyes… and then finally I left the shores of Australia, on my way into the new world and a new life.
